As part of the Ministry’s Provincial eLearning Strategy, the Ontario Ministry of Education and the Independent Learning Centre has launched a new project called Homework Help. All Ontario Mathematics students in Grades 7 to 10 have access to live interactive online math help, at no cost, through the new Math Homework Help site (homeworkhelp.ilc.org).
Students can log in to the Independent Learning Centre’s Homework Help website from any internet-connected computer Sunday to Thursday, 5:30pm to 9:30pm, to receive individualized, confidential math help from certified Ontario teachers.
Students have access to:
1. an online interactive whiteboard;
2. audio options to hear the tutor;
3. the ability to see questions that other students are asking; and
4. a virtual locker to save their sessions or other sessions for future review.
In addition to the live tutor sessions the site offers 24/7 access to online resources such
as the following:
• best session videos of commonly asked questions
• interactive tutorials
• listen and learn modules on various topics
• math games
• calculator
• glossary
